| Description | This one and a half-day symposium covers all key topics in pituitary, neuroendocrine and endocrine tumors. Several key abstracts will highlight recent advancements and discuss new guidelines within each of the chosen topics. National and regional faculty will present the latest research as well as provide additional insights regarding the diagnosis and management of pituitary, neuroendocrine and endocrine tumors to offer optimal care for patients within the field. Attending physicians and ancillary providers (nurse practitioners and physician assistants) will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss cases with the faculty in interactive sessions. |
| Objectives | At the conclusion of the activity, participants should be able to:
1. Describe key advances in the evaluation and management of pituitary, neuroendocrine and endocrine tumors that will affect clinical practice and will determine the direction of research in these fields in the coming years.
2. Review new imaging techniques in Pituitary, Neuroendocrine and Endocrine tumors
3. Manage the patient with Cushing's disease and acromegaly.
4. Discuss the role of radiology and pathology in the management of pituitary tumors
5. Review the advances in surgical and radiosurgical techniques for pituitary tumors
6. Discuss the laboratory and radiological evaluation of small bowel carcinoids and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors
7. Identify which patients with IBD to investigate for carcinoid tumors
8. Recognize importance of early detection of NETs
9. Assess the clinical impact of new endoscopic modalities for diagnosis of GI neuroendocrine tumors
10. Identify the patient with metastatic NET disease and understand the role of debulking surgery and liver transplantation
11. Describe the long-term management of patients with thyroid cancer
12. Recognize the etiology and management of Hyperparathyroidism
13. Understand recent advances in the management of adrenal tumors
