| Target Audience | Neurosurgeons, and other skull base surgeons who are interested in learning key-hole skull base surgery. |
| Description | This is a comprehensive course that will thoroughly cover current indications, limitations and surgical techniques for minimally invasive key-hole the skull base surgery. Our faculty will present the technical nuances and technological requirements of these surgeries. Current indications, advantages, limitations and outcomes will be discussed.
The course comprises a sequence of complementary didactic lectures, prosections, 3-D anatomical reviews and hands-on cadaver dissection. |
| Objectives | Following this course, attendees should be able to:
* Understand the anatomic relationships and surgical exposure afforded by keyhole surgical approaches including the supraorbital & retromastoid approaches
* Understand the relative anatomical exposures of the endonasal versus the supraorbital or retromastoid approaches for parasellar and paraclival lesions
* Understand the indications, technical nuances and limitations of key-hole surgery, particularly the supraorbital and retromastoid approaches
* Understand how to avoid and treat complications of key-hole skull base surgery
