| Description | This one-day symposium covers all key topics in gastroenterology. Several key abstracts will be highlighted within each of the chosen topics presented at DDW this year. National and regional faculty will present the latest research as well as provide additional insights regarding the impact of each study upon the current framework of care for patients within the field.
Attending physicians will have the opportunity to ask questions and present cases to the faculty in an interactive session. |
| Objectives | At the conclusion of the program, participants should be able to:
- Describe key information presented at DDW that will affect clinical practice and will determine the direction of research in gastrointestinal disease for the next year.
- Define the etiology and management of GERD and Barrett's esophagus
- Discuss the management of NSAID's, Ulcers, UGI Bleeding
- Review the etiology and management of celiac disease and microscopic colitis
- Discuss the etiology and management of small bowel motility and irritable bowel
- Identify the etiology and management of inflammatory bowel disease
- Detect and prevent colorectal cancer
- Describe the etiology and management of pancreatic and biliary disease
- Identify the patient with end-stage liver disease and liver transplantation
- Recognize the etiology and management of HCV and HBV |
